Dangerous Goods are defined as any product, substance or organism that may constitute a hazard to the environment, property, or the general public. These include explosives, flammable liquids, and poisonous substances.
A Dangerous Goods Route Study was completed in 2008 to recommend a designated road network and a bylaw for regulating the transport of dangerous goods in Prince George. The Study was based on a detailed technical and risk evaluation, as well as two rounds of public and stakeholder consultation. An addendum to the report was completed in Spring 2009 to add North Nechako Road, between Hwy 97 and the Cameron Bridge, to the designated network.
A copy of the final report and addendum are provided below. The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Bylaw No. 8192 (2009) is available on the Bylaws website.
