Overview

In its Strategic Plan, Council focuses its attention on the key initiatives it wishes to achieve in support of myPG Community Goals during its mandate.  Council's Strategic Plan is in alignment with policy directions established by the Social Development, Environment, Economic Development and City Government Strategies and supporting policies.

Council’s 2012 – 2014 key priorities focus on sustainable fiscal management, organizational excellence, sustainable infrastructure, effective governance, diversified and vibrant economy, international connections, and civic pride.

2014 Council Priorities

  • Implement the Core Service Review Recommendations
  • Identify New Revenue Streams
  • Develop and Implement a Continuous Improvement Program
  • Pursue 2014 Building Canada Fund Opportunities
  • Purse Natural Resource Revenue Sharing Agreements
  • Identify and Fund the Annual Minimum Infrastructure Deficit
  • Implement the Stormwater Utility
  • Build Strategic Partnerships
  • Develop 2015 Canada Winter Games Facilities and Opportunities
  • Finalize the Twinning Agreement Between the City of Prince George and the City of Jiangmen
  • Plan the City of Prince George’s 100th Anniversary Celebration
  • Develop a Project Plan for a Regional Performing Arts Centre
  • Implement the Mayor's Task Force on Crime Recommendations
  • Develop a Community Services Master Plan
  • Conduct an Aquatic Needs Assessment Study
