Standing Committee on Finance & Audit

The Finance and Audit Committee exists to provide a forum for informal discussion of issues related to the City’s financial and other corporate functions and to review the results of the City’s financial auditing processes.

 

Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Resolutions

The Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Resolutions exists to review proposed or enacted provincial and federal legislation and related provincial and federal policies or programs that are relevant to municipal government and initiatives of the North Central Local Government Association, Union of British Columbia Municipalities, and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities in areas not covered by other Standing or Select Committees of City Council, and makes recommendations for Council’s consideration.

 

Select Committee on Prince George’s 100th Anniversary Celebration

 

The purpose of the Committee is to make recommendations and provide advice to Council regarding Prince George’s 100th Anniversary Celebration, which will occur in 2015.

Select Committee on a Core Services Review

The Select Committee on a Core Service Review exists to examine the services provided by the City of Prince George and offer recommendations concerning program/service mandates, opportunities for expense reduction and revenue diversification, and operational efficiency.

 

Downtown Partnership

The Downtown Partnership is an advisory body to the City of Prince George Council, created to provide recommendations regarding downtown revitalization.  The Partnership is a multi-sectoral body, comprised of community leaders and downtown stakeholders. 

 

Prince George Combative Sports Commission

 

The Combative Sports Commission shall have power within the Municipality to regulate and supervise regulated sports including professional competitive boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and similar activities, contests and exhibitions, as may be specified by Council.

Prince George Heritage Commission

The Mission of the Prince George Heritage Commission is “To protect, conserve and interpret the heritage resources within the City by supporting, encouraging, and facilitating their proper conservation, maintenance and restoration”.

 

Advisory Committee on Accessibility

The purpose of the Advisory Committee on Accessibility is to remove physical and social barriers which impede the full participation of all citizens in every aspect of community life.

 

Advisory Committee on Development Design

The purpose of the Advisory Committee on Development Design is to advise Mayor & Council of the City of Prince George and City Staff on matters respecting policies and guidelines affecting the city’s physical environment, as well as applications for development permits.

 

Advisory Committee on Enhancing PG (Enhance PG)

The purpose of the Advisory Committee on Enhancing Prince George is to provide recommendations and advice to Council on the enhancement of the social, cultural, and natural vibrancy of Prince George and to encourage and support community participation, civic pride and neighbourhood engagement, with respect to Prince George's unique boreal, four season location.
