A municipal library is to be managed by a library board. The members of the library board and their successors in office are a corporation with the powers and duties given in the Library Act. Library Board members are appointees of City Council and operate under provincial legislation as detailed on the Public Library Services website.
Applications
If you are a resident of the City of Prince George who appreciates the value of having knowledge available to everyone, you may wish to contribute by becoming a member of the Prince George Public Library Board. Applications will once again be accepted for membership on the Library Board in November of 2014. Please keep an eye on this page for the start of our recruitment process.
Applications are available here, or may be picked up at City Hall, 1100 Patricia Boulevard. For your convenience, this application is available in an editable PDF format. All applicants are required to undergo an RCMP Criminal Records Check as part of the Library Board appointment process. The Consent for Disclosure of Criminal Record Information forms are available here and are provided in an editable PDF format. The forms can also be picked up at the Brunswick Street RCMP Detachment or at the City Manager’s Office, 5th Floor, City Hall. The completed Consent for Disclosure of Criminal Record Information forms can be dropped off at the Brunswick Street RCMP Detachment.
