Program Description
The City of Prince George understands the value and promotes the benefits of recreation and active living as an essential part of healthy living.
The Leisure Access Program (LAP) is a subsidy program that provides an opportunity for individuals with a limited income to participate in a variety of recreation activities.
All LAP clients receive 40 complimentary swimming or public skating admissions. Clients also receive a discount of up to 75% off programs such as swimming lessons or community association programs.
Eligibility
In order to qualify, the applicant must be resident of Prince George or surrounding area and meet one or more of the following criteria;
Receive Income Assistance from the Ministry of Housing and Social Development or assistance from the Ministry for Children & Family Development, Community Living BC, Carrier Sekani Family Services or Nezul Be Hunuyeh child and Family Services Society.
Have an annual income the previous year that is below the Statistics Canada Low Income Guidelines. Please see application form for qualifying income levels.
Receive a BC Seniors Supplement that is below the Low Income Guidelines as outlined in the application form

HOW TO APPLY
Step 1: Meet the eligibility criteria.
Step 2: Fill out the application form completely and accurately.
Step 3: Take your application to one of the referral agencies and have them sign and stamp your form or photocopy your previous years notice of assessment to bring in with your filled out application form.
Step 4: Please allow 2 weeks to process your form. Once approved you will receive a letter in the mail that you will take with either pool.
Step 5: Take your approval letter with you to either pool to be set up with your Leisure Access card. The card is valid for one year from the date is was issued. You must re apply after a year.
