Council Chambers at City Hall is equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment that will allow delegations to make presentations to Council as effective as they can be.
A computer is available at Centre Table for those wishing to make PowerPoint® presentations at a meeting. Delegations making presentations are requested to provide the Legislative Services Office with a copy of the presentation not later than noon on the Tuesday immediately prior to the Council Meeting in order to have the presentation installed on the laptop and ready to go for the delegation. This can be done by provision of a disk or by email to the Legislative Services Support Clerk.
Chambers also has an electronic overhead projector, nicknamed ELMO, that allows presenters not wishing to use the computer to provide visuals to Council. Individuals wishing to utilize ELMO are advised to avoid the use of plastic overhead sheets, since the ambient light in Chambers interferes with the image. Printing the overheads on plain paper allows a better image to be projected on the screens that sit on the Council desks and above the gallery in Chambers.
A video-cassette player is also available in Chambers for those presenters wishing to play a tape as part of their presentation.
Please be advised that presentations by delegations are limited to 10 minutes, in order to allow Council to conduct the rest of the business of the City in a reasonable time frame.
