Floral displays beautify our community with many colours and a variety of flowers and species planted each spring. The exact time of planting is weather dependent but usually occurs after the May long weekend. City gardeners have been working on redesigning the layout and plant material in various flowerbeds within our parks and open spaces. New plant material has been introduced in several highly visible flowerbeds throughout the city. Hearty flowering shrubs and perennials that have appeal in all 4 seasons have been added and will provide many vibrant colours while the bed progresses, giving a different look throughout the season. Traditionally flowerbeds were planted in late May and flowers were removed by the end of September. Now the community can enjoy many of these beds throughout the winter months.
