Pro D Day Flyer: Lots of Fun Opportunities to Discover!

During each Professional Development Day, the City of Prince George coordinates a listing of all the fun activities for children to enjoy during their day off school.  This is an opportunity for kids, parents and educators to discover all of the great events and programs that are available on Pro D Days.

Children can stay active, meet new people and learn some cool things by participating in all sorts of programs, special events and activities put on by our favourite local organizations and businesses - especially for kids on Pro D Days!

Pro D Days 2014/2015 are October 24th, November 28th, January 23rd, March 20th and April 24th and Spring Break (February 16 - 27).

The City of Prince George also offers opportunities to market your organization through our Active Living Market held at Pine Centre Mall in the fall and the spring. There are also advertising opportunities in our Active Living Guide which gets printed twice a year and distributed to over 25,000 households in Prince George and is filled with invaluable information on all our community has to offer. Sports Day in Canada - 2014 

Sports Day in Canada is on Saturday November 29th: celebrate sport all week long (November 22-29) with activities in our community.  Check back here for details in mid-October and find out about all the great opportunities to try out new sports and activities during this week with a multi-sport 'try-it' day on November 29th - free for the community!

 

 

And don't forget Jersey Day:  Friday, November 28, is a national day to show your love and support for sport by wearing a jersey, team or club uniform to school, work or play.

Youth Information Hotline

If you have any comments or suggestions regarding youth recreation programs or services that you would like to see in the City of Prince George, please call The Recreation and Cultural Services Department at 250-561-7640.

 

Youth of the Year Awards

The City of Prince George annually recognizes youth volunteers who have made outstanding contributions to their community.

The recipient of this award is presented with a certificate, a personal plaque and will have their name engraved on a plaque, which remains on display at City Hall. The award will be presented at the Civic Appreciation Dinner at the Civic Centre in April. The recipient will also be honoured at a City Council meeting in May or June.

KIDS IN P.G. PARKS

 

The City of Prince George has so many beautiful areas where you can get outside and enjoy playgrounds, parks and trails.  Fall is a wonderful time to be outside in your backyard, neighbourhood and community: there is so much to discover as the leaves turn brilliant colours and we get ready for winter.
