Education and training
Prince George is home to the region's only teaching hospital, the UHNBC. In addition, through the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and the College of New Caledonia (CNC), Prince George offers training for:

Having received more than $190 million in research awards since its establishment, UNBC is a leader in research and has been one of Canada's greenest employers for three years in a row and tied Harvard for the number one spot in campus sustainability projects in 2010.
The Northern Medical Program welcomes 32 medical students each year from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC) to the UNBC campus in Prince George. Also offered jointly through UBC is the Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering. A Master of Engineering in Integrated Wood Design program is also new to UNBC.
