The City is accepting applications, for appointment by City Council, of up to seven (7) community members to serve on the Commission for a two-year term beginning March 1, 2020.
Interested applicants must be available to attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings (12:00pm on the second Thursday of each month) and be willing to actively participate in projects the Heritage Commission undertakes throughout the year.
Deadline for applications is Friday, February 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

The Prince George Heritage Commission advises in matters regarding the protection, conservation, and interpretation of heritage resources within the community by supporting, encouraging, and helping with their proper conservation, maintenance, and restoration.
The Committee consists of nine volunteer citizens appointed by Council.

Heritage Places Award
This award is presented annually in recognition of the significant places in the history, growth and identity of Prince George.
Prince George Regional Heritage Fair Creative Spirit Award
This award is presented annually in recognition of student initiative in interpreting and sharing heritage concepts in fresh and exciting way.

The Prince George Heritage Commission offers or supports the following programs open to the public:

Look for the Heritage Commission at the British Columbia Northern Exhibition (BCNE), Home Show, and other community events. The Commission's booth includes historic photos, literature, slide shows, and a chance to meet and converse with its members.
The Commission is also please to offer presentations to seniors' groups, school groups, and other community groups by special request. Several presentation topics are available to choose from. Contact the Community Services for more information.
