Masks at the Aquatic Centre
The City of Prince George is following the advice of the Provincial Health Officer and making masks mandatory inside civic facilities, including the Prince George Aquatic Centre.
MASKS ARE NOT REQUIRED ON THE POOL DECK.
However, visitors must wear masks in the Aquatic Centre lobby, when walking in hallways and corridors, and in change rooms.

Registration
Do I have to register to swim?
Yes.
The Aquatic Centre has an attendance cap of 40 people set by COVID-19 health and safety protocols. This means we can only accommodate a certain number of swimmers, who are placed in bookable sessions.
Do I have to register online?
Registering online is the quickest way to reserve a spot.
You may also call the Aquatic Centre at 250-561-7787 beginning September 8 to book a session by phone. Please call ahead to check on availability for last-minute bookings.
Exceptions:
- Students with a valid U-Pass cannot register online. Please see the "Are U-Passes being accepted?" question for information on how to register with a U-Pass.
- If you are signed up for the Leisure Access Program, you will need to phone the Aquatic Centre at 250-561-7787 beginning September 8 to register your swim.
Do I need an account to register?
Yes.
You can browse aquatics programs and lessons, but you will be asked to log into or create a new account when attempting to register.
Can I register others who are not in my family account?
You can only register individuals who are listed in your family account.
How do I register as a caregiver for a special needs visitor?
Caregivers can register on behalf of customers with disabilities phoning the Aquatic Centre at 250-561-7787 beginning September 8.
Regular admission rates apply to special needs customers and caregivers swim for free.
Please note caregivers need to be within arm's reach of their dependants at all times.
What if I need to cancel my registration?
Registration Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Payment must be in full at the time of registration.
- Lesson cancellations and refunds require a minimum of two days' notice prior to the first day of lessons.
- The fee for swimming lessons does not include admission and is the cost of the lessons only. Lesson participants are required to pay a Toonie (plus tax) if they wish to swim before or after their lessons.
- Aquatic administrative staff reserves the right to cancel or combine swimming lessons prior to the first day of lessons. Refunds for cancelled lessons will be placed as a credit on the client account.
- Third-party billing is available to organizations that have provided written consent.
- Private lessons include the cost of the lesson only with the lesson report card and badge sold separately.
- All lesson participants are required to scan their registration confirmation form at the self-scan station prior to admittance.
Passes and the Leisure Access Program
Can I buy or use a pool pass?
No. You can only register on a single-admission basis.
We are currently not accepting most admission pass plans because of pre-registration requirements.
I'm a student. Can I still use my U-Pass?
If you are a student with a valid U-Pass, you will need to register your card with the Aquatic Centre by calling 250-561-7787 beginning September 8.
You only need to register your card once.
Once your U-Pass is set-up, you will only need to phone the pool in advance (for future swims) and a staff member will help you register for a single session.
Can I use my 10-visit swipe card?
No. You will need to register for all swim sessions.
You may cancel your 10-visit card and the card's remaining balance can be put towards future single-session swims.
There will be no refunds for paper punchcards.
Is the Leisure Access Program still active for swims?
Yes.
You will need to call the Aquatic Centre at 250-561-7787 beginning September 8 and a staff member will help you register for your swim session.
Are discount swims like Toonie Swims still available?
No.
All discount swims are cancelled during modified pool operations.
General Questions and Answers
Do I have to wear a face mask?
You must wear a mask in the lobby, along corridors leading to the change rooms, and in change rooms. Children under two do not need to wear a mask.

Place your mask in a resealable bag when not in use and store it in an on-deck cubby hole. Remove masks before showering and swimming.
How early can I arrive for my swim?
You may come to the pool up to 10 minutes before your session starts.
Can I sit in the viewing area?
No.
Only registered swimmers are allowed at the pool because of attendance limits.
Can I bring my own pool equipment?
No.
Pool items like kickboards, pull buoys, etc. will be available on-site for guest use. Equipment is sanitized after each swim session.
DO bring your own water bottle, however. Drinking fountains will not be available.
What pool amenities are open?

What if I get sick after my pool visit?
Notify pool staff immediately by phoning 250-561-7787.
