Prince George, BC – At approximately 10:30pm on April 15, 2024, Prince George Fire Rescue responded to an active monitored alarm at a residence in the 4000 block of Chestnut Drive.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames coming from a single-family dwelling. Crews from three firehalls worked for three hours to extinguish the fire. One occupant of the residence was fatally injured in this fire.

Property loss due to fire is estimated to be $250,000. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
