Pursuant to Sections 21 and 24 of the Community Charter, notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Prince George intends to provide assistance under a partnering agreement between the City of Prince George (the “City”) and the Prince George Downtown Business Improvement Association (“Downtown Prince George”).

Under the terms of the partnering agreement, Downtown Prince George will administer the “Downtown Vibrancy and Vitality Initiative” micro grant program as a service on behalf of the City to assist Downtown Prince George member businesses in repairing damage sustained to their storefronts caused by the August 22, 2023 explosion at 4th Avenue and Dominion Street.

The extent of the City’s assistance under the partnering agreement is limited to $20,000 towards the Downtown Vibrancy and Vitality Initiative funding program. Downtown Prince George member businesses may apply for up to $1,000 towards the cost of repairs or insurance deductibles related to damage sustained by the explosion.

The term of the partnering agreement will be from October 20, 2023 until December 31, 2023 with funds administered by Downtown Prince George on a first-come, first-served basis in accordance with the eligibility requirements of the program.

A copy of the proposed partnering agreement and related records may be viewed at the Legislative Services office on the 5th floor of City Hall, 1100 Patricia Blvd., Prince George, BC, during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
