Equipment for hire
The City of Prince George invites applications every year from contractors to provide labour and equipment-for-hire services for summer construction and maintenance projects and winter snow clearing operations. The equipment sought after may include (but is not limited to):
- Loaders
- Crawl tractors
- Graders
- Backhoes
- Excavators
- Trucks
Registration for the 2026-2027 Equipment for Hire Program is now open. This registration is for hires on an as-required basis from May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027.

How to Apply
Registrants must submit either an online or hardcopy application. Online submission is strongly encouraged. Please note that 2026 will be the final year hardcopy applications will be accepted. Beginning in 2027, all applications must be submitted online.
Applications must be received by no later than 3 p.m. local time on March 31, 2026.

Dangerous goods route
Dangerous goods are products, substances, or organisms that are hazardous to the environment, property, or the public. Examples include explosives, flammable liquids, and poisonous substances.
These goods may only be transported through Prince George on approved routes recommended in a 2008 dangerous goods route study.
