The primary responsibility of the Legislative Services Office is to provide administrative support to Council. The office records minutes of the meetings of Council and maintains them for public access, produces agendas for those meetings, and is responsible for correspondence resulting from the meetings. The Legislative Services Office also maintains the City's records management system.

The Legislative Services Office has a number of other responsibilities, including:

  • Coordination of the City's response to requests made under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act ; 
  • Coordination of Council Committees; and
  • Conduct of elections for Council of the City of Prince George.

The Legislative Services Office acts as the point of first contact for people wishing to correspond with Council, or to gain access to information regarding Council or its committees.
