  Freedom of the City

Freedom of the City is an honour bestowed by some municipalities in Australia, Canada, Ireland, France, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe to esteemed members of its community or to organisations that have given the community heroic service.

In Prince George,  Freedom of the City is the highest honor that Council can bestow on an individual, and is reflective of exceptional merit and contribution.

Freemen of the City of Prince George include Cliff Dezell, Shirley Gratton, Anne Martin, Colin Kinsley, John Backhouse, Garvin Dezell, Carrie Jane Gray, Harold Moffat, the Rocky Mountain Rangers Royal Canadian Army Cadets Corp, Pastor Lance Morgan, Ted Williams, Chief Justice Wilson, and Peter Wilson.
