  Military Church Parade

The 2011 Military Church Parade was the first in Prince George since the Second World War. We are proud to host this event annually, and it has been the first Prince George event to begin Veterans' Week. Historically military corps marched to church on Sundays for a special service to commemorate veterans serving and veterans lost in war. Participating in this event were the Royal Canadian Legion, Sea Cadets, Air Cadets,Rocky Mountain Rangers, Navy League Cadets and the RCMP. The City of Prince George (Memorial Park Cemetery) is proud to be active supporter of this worthy event.

The march of over 100 military personnel commence at the cemetery gates to the Veterans Memorial. The non-dedominational ceremony is performed by Padre Susan Scott with blessing of each corps, and a prayer for veterans interred in the cemetery. The Field of Honour flags (commemorating soldiers Canada has lost in Afghanistan) lines the route.
