City releases financial report on significant capital projects

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George, BC – Staff will present Council with a six-month update on significant capital projects at the December 5 Council meeting. The report will inform Council of the City’s capital budget and performance for significant projects over $1 million.

The report includes status information on major, debt and endowment-funded initiatives and covers active works for over $98 million in capital projects. Attached with the staff report is a 2022 project list that details, amongst other things:

  • Project budget health
  • Schedule health
  • Initial approval year, and more.

Notable projects completed in 2022:

  • The main fire hall replacement (Fire Hall #1).
  • The YMCA Park House Care and Early Learning Centre.
  • 2022 road rehabilitation.
  • The Western Acres water system.
  • 2022 sidewalk and walkway rehabilitation.
  • The Shane Lake dam renewal.
