The objective of the myPG Community grant is to assist registered not-for profits implement new or enhance current projects that contribute to making Prince George a great community.
- Applications are accepted twice per year with an intake deadline of March 15 and October 15 at 4:30 p.m.
- Allocations are generally $10,000 or less.
- The amount available in 2025 to allocate is for this stream is $233,148
Before completing a grant application, please ensure the project meets grant criteria and eligibility requirements.
Grant criteria
Projects should support the City’s Strategic Goals, with a focus on enhancing social health and well-being for residents by:
- Fostering community pride
- Promoting health and wellness
- Strengthening social connections among residents
- Encouraging participation in arts and culture
- Advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility
- Encouraging environmental sustainability & stewardship
- Ensuring a safe, healthy and clean community for all
Eligibility requirements
- Applicant must be a registered non-profit society.
- Projects must be within the City of Prince George Boundary.
- Applicants must ensure there are other sources of funding (cash or in-kind contributions) to support the project.
- If your proposed project is held at a City venue (park, arena, facility, plaza etc.) you are required to confirm the booking using the City’s venue booking process.
- Applicants can apply for multiple projects in both the spring and fall intakes, however the projects must be different.
The myPG Community Grant will NOT fund
- For-profit businesses.
- Research.
- Payment of City property taxes.
- Payment of debt.
- Major capital purchases ( e.g. land acquisition, buildings, vehicle purchases etc.)
- Professional development (e.g. attending a conference)
- Projects that have already taken place.
- Travel.
- Projects/events that duplicate other initiatives.
- School activities (activities, where there is significant involvement of the community, may be considered).
- Regular sports activities, tournaments, subsidized participant fees or subsidized facility rental fees (activities and/or programs focused on supporting equity and inclusion opportunities may be considered).
Newly eligible
- Admin Fee (up to 15% of total budget requested)
- Minor Capital projects and purchases
- Fundraisers that can clearly demonstrate the allocation of cost towards organizing a community project or event, rather than simply directing funds to another organization.

- Spring Cycle application deadline: March 15 at 4:30 pm. (If March 15 falls on a weekend, the deadline will be on the following Monday).
- Fall Cycle application deadline: October 15 at 4:30 pm. (If October 15 falls on a weekend, the deadline will be on following Monday).
- Applications for the Spring and Fall Cycle are open 4 weeks before application deadline.
- Within 4-6 weeks after grant deadline: notification of both successful and unsuccessful applicants sent to the email address provided on the application form and cheque sent out to the mailing address provided on your organizations profile.

Adjudication team composition
- 2-4 Representatives from the Funders' Collaboration Group
- 2-4 Representatives from the Not-for-profit sector
- 1-2 Internal City staff from various divisions
- Supported by administration (1-2 as non-voting members)
Funding considerations
Adjudication reviews applications using a scoring matrix based on overall alignment with the grant criteria and eligibility requirements. Additional considerations may include:
- Number of applications received.
- Total amount requested from all applicants.
- Budget available to allocate to all applications.

Definitions for the purposes of the myPG Community Grant
- Projects: refers to programs, services, small events, activities etc.
- Not for profit: refers to a registered not-for-profit organization known as a society. A society does not earn any profits for its members and all money is donated to the organization’s cause or goal.
- Professional Development: refers to conference attendance, staff training, travel costs etc.
- Capital: refers to the purchase of substantial investment in long-term assets. For example, this can include purchasing equipment, computer technology, land, building upgrades, furniture fixtures etc. that is >20% of total funding requested.
- In-kind: refers to goods, services and transactions not involving money. For example, volunteer hours are an in-kind contribution.
