Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George invites the community for the second year to make a difference this holiday season by participating in the annual ‘Fill the Bin’ winter donation drive, running from today, Monday, November 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. to Friday, December 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.
This year, the City has partnered with several local non-profit organizations to collect essential items, including winter apparel, non-perishable food, pet supplies, and items for new parents. These organizations include:
- Association Advocating for Women and Community (AWAC)
- Elizabeth Fry Society Young Parent Program
- Prince George Humane Society
- Salvation Army Prince George
Donations will support these organizations in providing vital services to individuals and families in need across the Prince George area.
Collection bins are ready to receive:
- Winter apparel: Coats/jackets, socks, boots, mittens/gloves, scarves, snowpants (new or gently used).
- Non-perishable food: Items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and other long-lasting pantry staples.
- Pet supplies: Bedding, toys, dry or wet food for all aged animals and species. Collars, leashes, food bowls, blankets, towels.
- Items for new parents: Diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, new or gently used baby gear, toys, books, linens, feeding tools such as bottles, plates, spoons, bibs.

- Cap-Abilities - 1313 1st Ave
- City Hall - 1100 Patricia Blvd
- Homespun Refillery - 3110 15th Ave
- Paw Street Market - 5079 Domano Blvd
- Prince George Aquatic Centre - 1770 George Paul Lane
- Save on Foods College Heights - 5232 Domano Blvd
- Save on Foods Hart - 3885 West Austin Road
- Starbucks at the Ramada - 444 George St
- Total Pet - 1915 Victoria St
Last year, the community came together to donate over two truckloads of winter gear and non-perishable food, helping countless individuals and families. This year, the aim is to make an even greater impact.
Outreach Coordinator Danielle Trudeau, who is heading up the organization for this year’s event along with the Bylaw department, expressed her gratitude for the community's ongoing support:
“We are proud to partner with these incredible organizations and are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community. Every donation makes a difference, and we hope to see the bins filled to overflowing once again this year.”
