FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prince George, BC – With the Foothills Boulevard Regional Landfill now operating under essential service hours (Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), the City of Prince George is adjusting its residential garbage collection schedule to ensure service continues during the ongoing strike action by Regional District of Fraser-Fort George unionized staff.
To align with the landfill’s revised hours, City solid waste crews will shift to a Tuesday to Saturday schedule for the duration of the labour dispute.
Beginning Saturday, October 25, residential garbage collection will follow the updated schedule below:
- Yellow zone – Tuesdays
- Red zone – Wednesdays
- Green zone – Thursdays
- Orange zone – Fridays
- Blue zone – Saturdays
All Blue zone households will be collected this Saturday, October 25, and Saturdays will remain their regular collection day until further notice.
The City appreciates residents’ patience and understanding as staff work to minimize disruptions and maintain garbage collection services during this evolving situation. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
The Foothills landfill remains open to the public.
