FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George, BC – The parking lot at the former Four Seasons Leisure Pool site will officially open on January 4, 2023. Parking stalls will be available to rent for $1 an hour or by the day for $6. Like other City lots, parking is free on weekends, statutory holidays, and on weekdays after 5 p.m. The lot is temporary but will remain in service for several years until the Civic Core District Plan is complete. The plan aims to expand the existing Civic Plaza, expand downtown greenspace, and provide an opportunity for a downtown transit exchange.

The lot, located on 7 Avenue and Canada Games Way, is free for patrons of the Two Rivers Gallery, Canfor Leisure Pool, and Prince George Conference and Civic Centre. Vehicle license plates must be registered at stations inside each facility to qualify for free parking.

In an effort to modernize the City’s parking system, the new lot will be entirely digital and will not have a pay-by-plate parking machine. Residents are asked to download the HotSpot parking mobile app or to scan the QR code on the lot signs to pay online. The HotSpot app easily allows residents to pay for off-street parking and can grant partial refunds on unspent parking time. The app also sends notifications before a parking pass expires to help prevent parking tickets.
