Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George is excited to invite residents to the second annual CityFest – a vibrant, family-friendly event happening Wednesday, May 13 at Canada Games Plaza.

From 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. residents are invited to join Mayor and Council for an afternoon of music, food, and interactive opportunities to connect with the services that support and strengthen the city.

CityFest promises something for everyone:

  • Food trucks, live entertainment by DJ Ant, and free skate rentals in the plaza
  • Free face painting and hands-on experiences for kids, including the chance to see municipal vehicles up close including a fire truck, tractor, and Zamboni

  • Have your say on city services and ask questions
  • Meet-and-greet opportunities with members of Council
  • Giveaways and fun games including coveted Mr. PG swag

The event coincides with Local Government Awareness Week (May 10–16) and Asset Management Awareness Day on May 13, making it a perfect time to spotlight the important work done at the municipal level.

“Last year, approximately 500 residents dropped by to learn about the services that keep our community running every day,” said communications manager, Claire Thwaites, “this year is shaping up to be even better with more free family-friendly activities and staff from nearly every City division available to answer your questions; from fire safety and bylaw education to parks, utilities, planning, and aquatics, we are excited to chat with you!”

CityFest is a free, all-ages event with no registration required. Whether you’re new to Prince George or a lifelong resident, come out and enjoy a fun, interactive afternoon that celebrates civic life in our community.
