While Monday, September 19 is not a statutory holiday, the federal and provincial governments have chosen to recognize it as a day of mourning to mark the Queen’s funeral. The City of Prince George will also recognize the day for City employees. City Hall will be closed, but some operational needs will continue to be met.
- All garbage scheduled for pick-up on Monday will proceed as normal.
- Arenas that have been booked will remain available to those groups. Users are asked to contact the City if they plan to cancel.
- Masich Place Stadium will be closed to public walking. However, previously booked events will go forward.
- Conference and Civic Centre bookings will be honoured. Users are asked to contact the City if they plan to cancel their event.
The City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, September 19 will be rescheduled to Wednesday, September 21 at 6pm in Council Chambers.
