FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prince George, B.C. - The City of Prince George will be closing a section of Fifth Avenue on Wednesday, April 9 for watermain utility work to be carried out.
The road closure will be between Melville Avenue onto Fourth Avenue and finish at Edmonton Street and will commence at 7:30 a.m. with detours in place down Melville Avenue and Ross Crescent. The closure is anticipated to last all day and finish at 5 p.m. but this is subject to change.
The closure is necessary as City crews need to excavate in the area to perform watermain repairs.
The City advises residents to exercise caution around the work zone and pay attention to signage and directions from the traffic control personnel. The City will coordinate with emergency services to ensure access for emergency vehicles.
A small number of residents will have their water turned off for the day, but those households will be notified in writing.
