FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George, B.C. - A section of Queensway will be closed from Monday, May 12 for watermain utility work to be carried out.

The road closure will be between 15th Avenue and 17th Avenue with a mix of single lane and multiple lane closures, with detours in place down Ingledew Street to bypass the construction zone.

To accommodate the detour route, the Queensway and 17th Avenue intersection traffic signal will operate as a four-way stop during the road closure.

The closure is anticipated to be in place until May 30 but this is subject to change.

The closure is required for a BC Housing project at 1575 Queensway, which involves the installation of a new water service for a fire suppression system. The sidewalk directly along the property frontage of 1575 Queensway will be closed, however, the east sidewalk along Queensway will remain open.

The City advises residents to exercise caution around the work zone and pay attention to signage and directions from the traffic control personnel.
