UPDATE 8:55 P.M – Residents of units at 101 - 108 at 448 Tabor Boulevard will be provided accommodations this evening as the City is activating emergency support services.
All other residents will be able to return home once electricity is restored - crews are currently estimating this should be done in about 30 minutes.Crews remain on site working on the gas leak issue.

The reception centre at Zion Lutheran Church will be closed as of 9:00 P.M. and impacted residents can call 250-614-7838 to arrange accommodation. If you call and get put through to voicemail, please leave your name and contact phone number and staff will return your call as soon as possible.


UPDATE 6:22 P.M. - The evacuation area has been updated. Residents of Carrier Place, Carrier Avenue, and Explorer Crescent that are inside the evacuation zone must stay out of the area. Homes that are no longer included in the evacuation area may return home.


ORIGINAL STATEMENT: Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George confirms the BC Emergency Alert issued at 5:30 p.m. is accurate and if you are in the impacted area please evacuate immediately to the Zion Lutheran Christian Church at 180 Tabor Boulevard. City Emergency Management staff on site to assist you. The following area is under evacuation: North of Fifth Avenue to Zion Luthern Church and East of Tabor Boulevard west of Voyager Drive. 

Prince George Fire Rescue Crews, plus RCMP and Fortis crews are all on site working to mitigate the issue believed to be an underground gas leak. The impacted area has also had the power shut off. The City will provide further updates when they are available.
