Prince George, BC –The City is currently investigating the cause of a water main break near 2nd Avenue and Dominion Street that forced road and sidewalk closures. The cast iron water main, which was installed in 1968, broke earlier today,
Crews were able to shut off water shortly before 1 p.m and staff informed five businesses located in the affected areas they will not have access to water until repairs are complete. The length of Dominion Street between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue and most of 2nd Avenue between George Street and Dominion Street are closed while crews tend to construction efforts.
City crews estimate repairs will take around 12 hours and hope to restore water access by 2 a.m., Tuesday, December 20.
