FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George, B.C. -- The City of Prince George is seeking a developer to purchase the property located at 2820 and 2880 15th Avenue for an asking price of $1.5 million less demolition costs. Expressions of interest (EOI) will be accepted until September 4.

Following the sale, the redevelopment under the new owner is to encompass a mixed-use building providing a space for arts on the ground floor and housing on the upper floors, up to six storeys. The property has been successfully rezoned to RM6: Mid-Rise Residential to allow for the required use in anticipation of sale. The new owner is to ensure the long-term occupancy of the current tenant, the Community Arts Council (CAC), within the first floor of the new building. The building on the property is more than 80 years old and has reached the end of its life cycle.

“The CAC has a long-standing history on the site and is a staple for arts in northern B.C.,” said planning and development director, Deanna Wasnik, “the rezoning and disposition of this property allows the City to meet two goals: increase the local housing supply and ensure the CAC can continue delivering arts and culture programming from the space that has been integral to the organization for decades. The City has worked closely with the CAC throughout this process.”

Interested parties can access the Request for Expression of Interest on BC Bid and Bids and Tenders, which provides comprehensive background and requirements for potential buyers. Submissions close at 2 p.m. on September 4, 2026.
