Crews recently revitalized a section of trail at Wilson Park to enhance accessibility and repair an eroded trail in a low-lying area of the Park.
The City completed trail rehabilitation activities on a 20-metre trail (pictured in map) that’s east of the parking lot at Wilson Park, one of Prince George’s five riverside parks in the city. The trail work included adding a culvert, building up traction materials and soil to reconstruct sections of the trail, rerouting drainage runoff, and making the grade of the trail more accessible for seniors.
Just off the parking lot, an accessible outhouse was also added this summer. The outhouse can be accessed via a short path from the parking lot.
Wilson Park, located off Ospika Boulevard North, is a popular riverfront destination for dog walkers and photographers, and features a 2.5-kilometre trail system and awe-inspiring views of the Nechako River and Fish Trap Island from the trail route or picnic area.
