FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George B.C - A section of 7th Avenue will be closed to traffic for a month from May 13 while watermain work is completed by the City of Prince George.

The work zone is 7th Avenue between Alward Street and McBride Crescent, plus a section of Laurier Crescent between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue.

The project will increase low fire hydrant flow pressure in the area, support future development, and increase system reliability.

The budget allocated for this work is $750,000 and is funded through the Water Distribution System Renewal and Water Distribution System New budget.

The City is asking people to exercise caution in and around the work zone and pay attention to signage and directions from the construction crew. Please use alternate routes during construction.
