The Prince George Aquatic Centre will be closed, effective January 1st for a two year upgrade project. The Canfor Leisure Pool will have extended hours during this time. Read the Canfor Leisure Pool guide for helpful tips.
Canfor Leisure Pool
The Canfor Leisure Pool located at 670 Quebec Street is a fully accessible facility providing state-of-the-art amenities. Features include a water elevator to help visitors in and out of the pool, a "NinjaCross" pool obstacle course, a large waterslide, leisure pool with play features, hot tub, sauna, steam room and more. - Lanes: Minimum two lanes available during Everyone Welcome Swim in the main pool and or in the teach pool. Exceptions: There is no lanes on Fridays between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Limited lane space on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. No lanes available when the NinjaCross equipment is in use as well as 15 minutes prior to start time and 15 minutes after end tome to move lanes.
- Discount admissions are not valid during special events, statutory holidays or school vacations.
- The Sensory Friendly Swim provides a calming environment with reduced noise and overhead lighting. This swim is not available during special events, statutory holidays or Non Instructional Days.
- The NinjaCross is available 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. during SD57 Non Instructional Days and School Holidays.

- A caregiver who provides direct physical support to an individual with a disability (cannot function independently) is admitted free while remaining with arm's reach. This courtesy admission is intended for safety purposes, so that a caregiver can assist with necessary physical supports in and out of the water.
- Lockers are $0.75

Lane Swimming Etiquette
- Choose the correct lane: Slow / Medium / Fast.
- Circle swim: Continuous swimming, staying on the right side of the lane prevents a collision among swimmers.
- Rest at wall corners: Don't rest in the middle of the swim lane.
- Be aware of others: Avoid sudden stops of direction changes.
- Respect all swimmers: Patience and communication go a long way.

Vehicle license plates must be registered on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to receive free parking. Register your plate at a pay station inside the facility or speak to staff to avoid being ticketed.
- Drop-off and pick-up zone, accessible and senior parking, and EV charging stations are available in front of the pool.

The Canfor Leisure Pool was designed to be fully accessible. Features include:
- Signage that includes Braille as well as large, easily recognizable icons
- Coloured and textured tiles to guide patrons to the changerooms, and from the changerooms to the pool deck and into the water
- Wheelchair accessible washrooms, including sinks at appropriate height for wheelchair access
- Fully accessible changerooms, with powered lift and adjustable bed with shower access
- Water-accessible wheelchairs and walkers
- Water elevators for wheelchair access to each pool
- Extra-wide staircase and ramp access to each pool, including handrails
- Single level pool deck, for increased visibility and easier access

Discount Swimming
Discount Admissions 2025 Monday - Friday:
12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
$4.48 Non-Instructional Days:
Discount Swims are valid during all School District #57 non-instructional days.
$2.10 Swimming Lessons:
Customer registered in lessons (caregiver included) may swim before or after lessons
$2.10 Discount swims are not valid during special events, statutory holidays and school vacations and does not apply to school bookings or group bookings. Family 1st Adult: Adult with their children/youth 18 years of age and younger. Cost: $6.55
Family Additional: Additional family accompanied with Family 1st Adult (children/youth 18 years and younger/second parent). Cost: $4.48 per Family Additional.
What is LAP?
The Leisure Access Program (LAP) provides opportunities for residents with limited income to participate in a variety of aquatic activities. Leisure Access participants receive:
- 52 complimentary public swimming admissions.
- 75 percent off all swim passes once the 52 complimentary admissions have been used.
- 75 percent off swimming programs ($50.00 credit maximum) such as swimming lessons.
Who is Eligible?
Applicants must be permanent residents who live within the City of Prince George municipal boundaries and meet one of following criteria:
Have an annual income that is below the Statistics Canada Low Income Guidelines.

- Connected with a Leisure Access Program referral agency. If you are currently working with a not-for-profit agency/service provider ask if they are a referral agency for the City's LAP and if they can assist you with completing a referral.
How Do I Apply
Option 1:
Complete the LAP Participant Application form using the link below. A paper copy of the Participant Application form is also available at both the Canfor Leisure Pool and P.G. Aquatic Centre.
Option 2:
Referral agencies completing applications for clients, may submit using the link below. If you are not currently an approved referral agency*, email leisureaccessprogram@princegeorge.ca to learn more about this process and to determine if your agency is eligible to be a referral agency for this program.
*Note: The City works in partnership with several community not-for-profit agencies to refer clients to the Leisure Access Program.
