The kickoff to Million Dollar Jim Week!
On Friday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. Mayor Simon Yu will be issuing a proclamation recognizing “Million Dollar Jim Week” in honour of Jim Terrion, a local resident who has been fundraising for The Terry Fox Foundation since 1991. Jim has personally collected over $1 million in donations through grassroots efforts — approaching individuals, businesses, and events across the region for over three decades.
The event will take place at the Canfor Leisure Pool entrance, near the Terry Fox statue, and will include remarks from Mayor Yu and Fred Fox, Terry’s brother, who is travelling to Prince George to personally congratulate Jim.
Then from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m on June 13th., head over to the Tourism Prince George Visitor Information Centre (850 Canada Games Way), where you’ll have a chance to meet both Jim and Fred!
