FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George, B.C. – Shortly after 11 a.m. on April 9, Prince George Fire Rescue crews from three halls attended a structure fire in the 400 block of Ewert Street.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire, which was found on the exterior of the residence, but remained on scene for several hours to ensure the fire did not extend into the roof line.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire appears to have started from an improperly discarded cigarette. Damages are estimated at $50,000.
