Water service work to impact traffic on Giscome Road

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George, B.C. – Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Giscome Road Thursday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as City of Prince George crews work to repair and install new water main valves.

Approximately 180 homes on will be without water during the work period, including properties along Giscome Road at Sommerville Road, Sommerville Road, McLaren Road E and W, Evasko Road, and 6 Mile Lake Road. Properties affected by water shutoffs will be notified in advance. 

Nearby properties may experience temporary changes in water pressure or sediment. The water is safe to drink, and residents are advised to run their taps until the water clears if discolored. 

Motorists are asked to follow posted signage and use caution near the work area. The City thanks residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation as crews complete this necessary infrastructure work.
