Am I eligible to vote?

How do I register to vote?

The City of Prince George uses same-day voter registration. Voters do not need to register in advance to vote in the Prince George General Local Election.

Voters must present at least two (2) pieces of acceptable identification at the voting station that show proof of identity and place of residence. At least one of the two forms of ID must contain a signature

Note: A combination BC Services Card and BC Driver's Licence only counts as one (1) form of acceptable identification. A second piece of identification will be required.

Individuals who do not have a document that proves a place of residence may also provide two documents from the list above that provide proof of identity and make a solemn declaration as to the place of residence to the Election Official at the voting station.

Can I vote with a mail ballot?

The City of Prince George accepts requests for a Mail Ballot Package. Application forms will be available online and for pick-up at City Hall. To be counted for voting, mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer by the posted deadline.

Electors who are concerned they may not have enough time to return completed packages before the deadline can call an Election Officer.
