Mail ballot voting is available to all eligible resident electors and non-resident property electors for the 
2026 General Local Election.

How to Apply for a Mail Ballot

Eligible electors must complete a Request to Vote by Mail Ballot form. Forms are available:

How to Submit a Completed Request Form

Completed forms may be submitted by:

  • Email: election@princegeorge.ca
  • Fax: 250-561-0183
  • Mail/Deliver: Legislative Services Division, 5th Floor City Hall, 1100 Patricia Blvd, Prince George, BC V2L 3V9

Deadline to submit a request form: 4:30 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Receiving Your Mail Ballot

You may choose to:

  • Pick up your mail ballot package in person from City Hall (1100 Patricia Blvd);
  • Authorize a third party to pick it up on your behalf; or
  • Have the package mailed to you using Canada Post regular mail.

We anticipate to start distributing mail ballot packages the week of September 21, pending receipt of the ballots from our supplier.

Once ballots have been received, mail ballot packages are typically ready within 24 hours of receiving a completed request form.

Electors will be contacted by telephone or email when their package is ready. Packages may be picked up during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Mail ballot packages will not be mailed after October 1, 2026.

Please allow sufficient time for delivery by Canada Post. The City is not responsible for delays in mail service.

Returning Your Mail Ballot

Mail ballot packages may be returned by:

  • Mail or courier;
  • In person at City Hall during regular business hours; or
  • Deposited in the secure drop box next to the City Hall entrance.

To be counted, your ballot must be received by the Chief Election Officer before 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Ballots received after 8:00 p.m. on General Voting Day cannot be accepted under the Local Government Act.
