FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prince George B.C – Winter blues? Not on our watch! The City of Prince George is launching the 2023/2024 winter Community Association Recreation Guide today.

The Winter Community Association Recreation Guide, features a wide array of recreation opportunities offered by local community associations. Get out into your community meet new people, get active and be healthy.  Think floor hockey, indoor soccer or embracing the pickleball craze – there’s activity for all ages.

The Winter guide has also mapped out all the community outdoor ice rinks for your skating pleasure. Once the snow decides to stick around, it’ll be time to lace up those skates and turn winter into your personal playground.

The new guide is also more mobile friendly, with some changes made from the last guide launch.

There are seven community associations within Prince George, and they all work with the City to offer programs in school gyms, fields, and parks throughout the city to residents of all ages and experience levels.

The seven associations are:

  • Beaverly West Leisure Society
  • Blackburn Community Association
  • College Heights Community Association
  • Crescents Community Association
  • Hart Community Association
  • South Bowl Community Association
  • West Bowl Community Association

The committed and dedicated volunteers of each community association provide activities for every neighbourhood in the city. All Prince George residents are welcome to register for any community association’s programs and events.

Registration is now open for many of the programs, and the guide lists all the upcoming community association programs for both children and adults, including when and how to register for specific activities.

Community Associations are one of the key ways of City of Prince George recreation delivery and this season we have partnered with  EngageSport North to support community association grassroot recreation opportunities throughout our community.
