The City of Prince George reserves the right to revise its grant guidelines at any time. Grant programs are subject to ongoing review and are updated annually.
General guidelines
Thinking of applying for a City Grant? Here is what you need to know to get started.
- Your organization must be a registered not-for-profit or charity in good standing to apply for any grant stream.
- Your organization operates (or project) must be within City of Prince George Boundary for the benefit of PG residents.
- Applicants wishing to apply but are not a registered not-for-profit can partner with a not-for-profit in good standing to submit an application.
- To be eligible for any grant stream, applicants must be current with all reporting including grant recognition requirements.
- Projects that have already received funding from a grant stream in the same calendar year are not eligible for recurring funding. For example, if you received funding in the spring, you cannot apply for the same project in the fall.
- The grants program is unable to fund capital improvement projects on school property.
- Funding is highly competitive, with limited resources available.
- Priority will be given to applicants who have not received funding in the past two years.
- While applicants are welcome to reapply, all funding decisions are final.

- To apply or check your application status, use the Online Grants Portal to create an account for your organization or log back in.

- Updates on grants, including deadlines, will be posted on the Community Grants webpage and sent to subscribers (be sure to subscribe using the link at the bottom of the web page).
- Successful grant recipients will be shared on the webpage.

Grants information and updates
Do you have a great project idea for the community? The myPG Community Grant is now open for applications!
Grant Objective: to provide funding to registered not-for profits’ projects and events that contribute to making Prince George a great community and promotes it as a great place to live and visit.
Key Details:
- Applications deadline: October 15 at 4:30 pm.
- Allocations are generally less than $10,000.
- The amount remaining in 2025 to allocate for this stream is $114,563.

Capacity Building Grant
Looking for funding to build your not-for-profits team’s skills and knowledge?
Objective: to provide support to registered not-for-profits for assistance with upgrading skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers in order to improve the performance of that organization to the benefit of the community.
- Very limited funds remaining: $591 available.

New Updates:
The City has updated its grant streams to reflect ongoing community feedback and improve the application process. The updated programs will be open to apply for starting in January 2026, in alignment with the City’s budget cycle and Strategic Goals:
- Limited Duration Operating Grant: up to max of $30,000 for up to 2 years to support overall operating costs and are not designated for any specific project or activity.
- Quick Response Micro Grant: up to $2,500 for smaller projects, projects with short timelines & are ideal for applicants new to the grants process.
- Capacity Building Grant: up to $1,500 for assistance with upgrading skills and knowledge of staff and volunteers to improve the performance of that organization to the benefit of the community.
- Sport PG Grant: We are making it easier than ever to apply. Details coming soon!

The NEW City of Prince George Limited Duration Two Year Operating Grant is currently accepting applications!
Limited Duration Two Year Operating Grant Objective: to provide funding for up to 2 years to registered not-for profits towards overall operating costs and are not designated for any specific project or activity.
- Applications are accepted once per year with a due date of January 31 at 4:30 p.m.
- Allocations are up to 30% of the organizations overall operating budget up to max of $30,000.
- The amount available in 2025 to allocate is for this stream is $131,576.

Join us for the Grants Tradeshow at the Civic Centre on October 10th:
The City of Prince George is pleased to invite local non-profit organizations and charities to the 2024 Grants Tradeshow at the Prince George Conference & Civic Centre.
The first of its kind, this exciting event will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Grants Tradeshow provides a unique opportunity for not-for-profit groups to discover various grant opportunities available locally. Attendees will have the chance to meet directly with grant providers, gain valuable insights into the application process, and network with other organizations.
Event Highlights:
- Meet local grant providers and learn about the range of grants available to support your projects and initiatives.
- Discover how to apply for funding and maximize your organization's potential for success.
- Network with other local organizations to share ideas, opportunities, and build partnerships.
This is a free, drop-in event, and no registration is required. Light refreshments will be available.

The City of Prince George myPG Community Grant is currently accepting applications! You are now required to set up an account and in order to give you more time to prepare, we have launched the myPG Grant early.
myPG Grant Objective: to provide support to registered not-for-profits to implement new or enhance current projects and events that contribute to making Prince George a great community. Applications are accepted twice per year with an intake deadline of October 15 and March 15 at 4:30 pm. Allocations are generally less than $10,000.
New this year: You are now required to set up an account in order to apply for a myPG Grant. We are pleased to introduce Foundant, a Grant Lifecycle Manager software that simplifies the grant application process. You can learn more here.
If you need extra support setting up your account, you can join us for a drop-in session (no appointment necessary) at City Hall in meeting room 2a and we will walk you through how to set up your Foundant account.

We're designing new City Grants, and your insight is extremely important to us. By sharing your thoughts through our survey, you'll help us design new grant streams that truly meet the evolving needs of not-for-profits in Prince Geroge. The survey is available from June 3-14 and will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. All survey results will remain anonymous. Later this fall, findings will be included in an implementation plan for Council's approval. As a small gesture of appreciation, you'll be entered into a draw to win a $50 prepaid Visa card. The winner will be announced end of June.
As part of ongoing improvements to our City grants, we are excited to announce the upcoming launch of Foundant, a Grant Lifecycle Manager software that simplifies the grant application process for not-for-profit organizations. Foundant will officially launch for the myPG Fall intake in 2024.
Foundant is an all-in-one platform that streamlines the entire grant process, ensuring a smoother experience from start to finish. Some of the enhanced features include:
- Preview the entire application before submitting your response.
- Auto-save function to save your work and come back later.
- Shared access to draft applications and ability to collaborate with multiple users on the same grant application(s).
- Review previous grant submissions.
- Copy from previous applications and pre-populated information to speed up the process.
- Check on the status of your application.
- Receive reminder notifications to ensure reporting requirements are met.
Further details, including support for setting up and navigating a user account, will be available in the upcoming months. We'll provide detailed guidance on how to set up your user account and complete your application in Foundant well in advance. Check the City's grants page regularly for the latest updates.
