FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Prince George BC - At approximately 3:00 p.m. on October 9, 2024, Prince George Fire Rescue crews from three halls responded to the 8000 block of St. John Crescent for a reported structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flame coming from a two-story single-family dwelling. Crews quickly contained the fire to the basement and knocked the fire down quickly.
Investigation determined the fire was caused by unattended candles being used in the dwelling. There were no injuries to occupants of firefighters during this incident.
Damage is estimated at $80,000.
